Inadmissible Item Returns

Any and all items which are refused for being inadmissible to all inmates at the facility may be returned to us for a credit of the original purchase price of the item and the return postage cost.  We must receive a copy of a completed Authorization for Disposal of Personal Property (Form 2068) signed by a package room officer and the inmate to provide a credit.

 

Loss of Privileges Return

Any complete and unopened package which is returned because of loss of package receiving privileges or monthly restrictions of items or packages will be handled in the following matter:

 

1.       If the package contains grocery items which will expire within a month those items will be removed and the order will be placed in a hold status.

2.       When privileges are returned, the inmate or customer must contact us via email, writing or by telephone and provide to us the cost of reshipping the item.

 

For non-grocery products (i.e. electronics, shavers, etc.)

Defective products may be returned for repair or replacement only, at our discretion, within 30 days from the invoice date. After 30 days, the manufacturer's warranty applies.

 

We will accept the following kinds of returns without a restocking fee within 30 days of the invoice date: unopened or defective non-grocery products. Returns must be in 100% complete, resalable condition, and must include original packaging, manuals, and unfilled-out registration cards.

 

Partial Package Item Returns

If a package is received by a correctional facility and the intended inmate recipient cannot receive/accept the items for any reason other than a discrepancy on our part* those items will be credited to the customer less a 15% restocking fee. We must receive a copy of a completed Authorization for Disposal of Personal Property (Form 2068) signed by a package room officer and the inmate to provide a credit. We cannot accept returns of the following Items:

 

·          Any item that is not in its original condition being damaged or is missing parts.

·          Any item that is not in saleable condition.

·          Any hermetically sealed food package that has been opened or broken.

·          Any book or magazine that has obvious signs of use (at our discretion).

·          Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.


*A Discrepancy on the part of UpNorth Services in regard to this policy is defined as the sale and shipment of a product inadmissible statewide per the state directive of admissible items.
